post 4

New addition!
Instead of my blog being just about music and design, I am going to make it music daily and a rotating topic from day to day. So here is my first rotating topic. Yesterday was design, so today will be.......

Makeup
I got some super cute eye shadow for Christmas from my bff. The brand is Wet n Wild. They go on nice and bright and come in some super cute colors! My friend told me that if I wanted to get some more, I could get them at Rite-Aid for about a buck. If you need some new eye shadow I totally reccomend it.
here is the website and a review, enjoy!

Lessons day!
I'm doing swell on my Bach solo. Hopefully I will be able to move on next week!!!
My practicing during the week consists of 2 hours of repertoire and exercises. Its easy for me to do because I am home schooled. I have been all my life, and would prefer it to stay that way until I graduate.
here is a fun clip of my Bach solo ( this is someone off of YouTube, not me :) )

Enjoy!

Day 2! (not really, its still day one, I'm just going to pretend that my first post was yesterday, lol)

DESIGNING
I love color. I love history. I love the three stooges.
Those are my inspirations for my latest design. Yesterday, my father and I were watching the Three Stooges. Its almost a tradition in my house to watch them on new years eve or day.  As you know (if you don't, now you do) in almost every episode, there are beautiful ladies that the boys come into contact with. Some of these ladies had on HUGE strands of pearls. One lady had a strand that went below her waist! Anyway, these pearls inspired me to do a flapper dress with a modern twist, and of course, a strand of pearls! I used the following colors: black, purple, and blue. The pearls are grey. Below the waist (the skirt part of the dress) are the flapper style fringes, and above is a spaghetti strap v-neck. I would post MY design, but I would rather keep that under lock and key.

Here are your fun things!
Here is a traditional flapper costume. Notice the fringes.

Here is some tradition stooges to go with the traditional dress. This is one of my favorite lines!

Happy New Year! (Happy New Blog!)

The new year started out with a fun party at a friends house and exhaustion the next day. But, I am ready for the coming punches thrown at me in the new year.

For Christmas, I finally got my up-right piano tuned. Its a Hobart M. Cable. Our piano guy said that it was probably from the 70's and had never been tuned before-- so thaaats why it sounded so awful before! lol!  One of my violin strings decidedly started to fray around the holidays, so I haven't practiced for a while (I need a little help re-stringing, I have this fear that it will *SNAP* right in my face). I've taken up piano in the mean time. It isn't very hard, but I do get confused with the different positions. I have, so far, taught my self to play around 20 songs (none of them two hands) and am almost done with the beginner piano book(this book has two hands)- progress is exciting!

My most recent violin piece that I am working on is a Bach solo called Gavotte. It sounds so much like a song that should be danced to while wearing historic costumes from the middle ages. I enjoy it very much!

Since the main topic of this post was my newly tuned piano, I thought I would put in this post some fun things that had to do with that. Enjoy!

This couple plays one of my favorite songs, from one of my fave movies! I REALLY want to play this with my bff who takes piano lessons (its one of her faves too!)
